Irk where are you
Submitted by irk on Fri, 03/23/2012 - 11:32pm"Irk why do you never post on the site anymore? Are you even writing?"
Sorry! Sorry sorry sorry. I post a lot of updates on my writing all the time on my tumblr!
My writing updates go here and have snippets of the novel rewrite in progress:

I write almost every day. The novel is looking GREAT. I just concentrate on getting it done so much that I forget to post about it here.

April 2010 - A Crappy (tl;dr) Retrospective on Crappy Poetry
Submitted by Char on Sat, 05/01/2010 - 12:05amI'm going to do something dumb that I've also been told is something you should never ever have to do with your art -- gonna EXPLAIN it. But only a bit! After all, it's not like I'm terribly deep with my poetry. I do it because if I don't, Irk will do horrible things to me.
And also for a lot of the same reasons Vogons do it.
1 - Reunion
April 1st was the day I saw my OMGBFFJEN for the first time in years, and got to meet her freakin' ADORABLE fiancee Jenna. The moment we spotted each other on Main Street was awesome. It was like no time had passed at all.
2 - Sequence
Right! Written on the way home from California, and the first of the iPhone poems. (I'll have to keep a tally of how many there are.) I use the Fibonacci Sequence to help me sleep, but even that wasn't working that night. I just wanted to be home.
WIP Wednesday - PK 32 and Perfect Sleep
Submitted by irk on Wed, 02/10/2010 - 3:07pmWIP Wednesday is back in full swing now that the chaotic phase of moving has for the most part passed. (I live in PDX proper now! Exciting!) Today I'm giving you a preview of this week's Peacock King Friday update, plus another taste of Perfect Sleep, my novel-in-progress.
Check out the previous WIP Wednesday blog for the first part of Perfect Sleep, which is the story of a psychic insomniac trying to get by in a dystopian future. Here's the next bit of it!

Home's not so much of a thing I want to describe. I sort of live in a box. You laugh, yes, but for me there's just no worth in buying anything better than a Cube in the low-rent district. I've got enough room to sit and play the vidyos. That's enough to get me by. I don't need stuff. Don't want to try affording it. And the last time I got a pet fish, it killed itself. Yes, I know - my life is so hard.

Writing About Tall, Haughty People
Submitted by irk on Sun, 08/16/2009 - 5:42pmAbout a week ago I started reading to Char's kids every night before bedtime. I decided to read the Chronicles of Narnia to them in chronological order. I mean, they were written for basically that purpose, right? And I've only read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian. So I figured along the way I'd get to read the whole series as well, a chapter every night, which is a pretty sweet deal. Also, it's sort of a practice thing for me, because I really love reading stories aloud and doing voices. Yes, I am thinking audiobooks for Peacock King. Wouldn't that be pretty awesome? We just need a mike, folks.
