I don't talk about readership a lot in the PK blogs - I like to just let what happens happen. But I'm really happy with what I've been seeing in the last month, with lots of new readers coming in from several places we advertised on... and some coming in from entirely different ways! Friday's Book 3 Chapter 55 hit 250 reads by Monday (today) and I've never seen reads escalate that fast before. The other chapter numbers are comparable, so even if the hit count's a little inflated, it's still impressive. I'm very excited about the new readers and the old readers and all the people who flock around the Peacock King website and make this thing worth doing.

Believe me, we'll have rewards for you. Remember to spread the PK word, and never be afraid to leave a comment! I'm going to start replying more to reader comments - I keep forgetting I can do that, and that readers really like it when authors reply. If you don't have the time to comment or just don't know what to say, that's perfectly fine - I've been in the exact same position as you. Just know that I do read every comment and I really love hearing from readers on how a chapter or character or moment affected them, even if it's Book 1 Chapter 1. (Especially if it's early stuff, honestly - that means I can use the comments to make those chapters better when I rewrite them soon.)

Speaking of rewrites, yes, Book 1's first half will be rewritten while Char's posting a story after Book 3 is all posted. This is because while I can deal with flaws in online serial work (they're the nature of the beast, as I'm essentially posting first draft work after a quick editing bout, and often writing a chapter a week) the first half of Book 1 is just not to my standards, and needs desperate attention. It was my kickstart after years of barely writing, and it does show. I thank you for enduring some of the tripe in there, and I promise that what comes out of the rewrite will be the same story, except much less terrible. I won't change what you love and I'll do stuff like pay attention to floor plans.

I'm looking forward to showing it to you! And I'm also looking forward to what happens after Book Three! I hope you are too.
