The Ongoing Facelift

 As some of you might have noticed, the site got a bit of a redesign today.  It's still in progress; we need to finish tweaking the adspace and sidebar a bit, but for the most part, this is it!  Neat, huh?  (Well, except for some cosmetic work, but that's not so much my concern as Irk's.  Boy oh boy I love delegation.)

 

For the most part, not much is changing.  A lot of the work I've been putting in has been pretty under-the-hood, with the exception of the stuff that's in that nice big ribbon section up there.  There are a few big changes going down, though, that everyone might be interested in.

 

First big change is the wiki.  The old wiki is going down, and will soon be replaced with one that everyone can edit to their heart's content.  Not only will this give us valuable feedback on what everyone is picking up from the story, but it will also give me and Irk some relief with our worries about spoilers and worldbuilding tweaks and changes causing confusion.  I'll still participate to some degree, but the wiki isn't going to be my pet project anymore.  Now, it's in your hands.

 

The second big change is the gallery.  I hated that stupid gallery, and dammit I'm going to put a better one into place.  We have a better idea of what we need from one now, and the current one ain't it, yo.

 

Some things that we're planning for the near future include more layout tweaks to display different content for different groups of people (people who have registered and special content for people who have donated are the big ones), the aforementioned donor content, a goddamned inline spellchecker, and possibly a bit of content more musically-oriented.  (Still researching this one!)

 

As always, feedback on these changes and ideas for other ones is utterly invalueable!  Don't be shy!  I don't bite!  (Irk does, but she's had all her shots.  ...I think.)
