Ebrellin-i's New Crown
Submitted by irk on Fri, 01/06/2012 - 10:25pmSo a funny thing happened while I was rewriting Peacock King Book 1. You know, the one that was first titled In the Court of the Peacock King? Yeah, I figured out that not once in the whole book did I ever describe the Peacock King's Court. Which is FUNNY, because you see...
'Court' was in the NAME.
Happy New Year! Have some SPLICE art!
Submitted by irk on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 3:00pmFirst. SPLICE ART.
Now. Uh... well, I just wanna say goodbye to 2011. It was an extremely busy year in which I learned a lot and accomplished a lot of things. I built a foundation for even bigger things to come in 2012. I think, overall, I can look back on the old year and say: "I'm glad that's over with."
Good luck to all of you in the coming year, and be safe, happy, and successful!
SPLICE Chapter 4 - Identity
Submitted by irk on Wed, 12/21/2011 - 9:28pmSigil, sigil, on the floor, is she Lea or something more?
This series is so worth reading! I am terrible at posting update reminders here because I'm at a different family reunion every weekend, and I am truly sorry about that. Anyway if you haven't read it already, here is SPLICE 4. New snippet of PK1 Omega Edition gets posted tomorrow.
SPLICE Chapter 3 - Ribbons
Submitted by irk on Mon, 12/05/2011 - 10:11pmSolomon begins to wonder if he should have taken the right turn at Albuquerque instead.
This chapter (obviously) introduces Solomon, who is maybe my favorite character in this serial! It's hard to choose one, especially since I know all the awesome that's to come in this serial. Well, some of it. o_o Char always surprises me. Anyway SPLICE is an urban fantasy with angels, demons, and Alaska, all very scary things. Go read!
SPLICE Chapter 2 - Mercedes
Submitted by irk on Sun, 11/20/2011 - 4:12pmNext on Mythbusters: Can a Mercedes be used to plow 10" of snow? Find out!
SPLICE is an urban fantasy webserial that Char is writing (and Irk is corrupting with her presence). If you haven't started reading yet, now's the perfect time! Have fun!
This Friday: another Peacock King Book 1 Omega Edition preview!
New Story!
Submitted by irk on Fri, 11/04/2011 - 8:30pmSo, I bet you are wondering: what are Irk and Char going to post while Irk takes a hiatus from writing more Peacock King books so that she can edit the draft for Peacock King Book 1 so that the book can eventually be sold as an ebook and print book!
The answer is SPLICE. It is a new urban fantasy serial that Char is writing and Irk is... meddling with. Summary: Heaven falls, Hell breaks loose, and Earth is stuck in the middle. As angels and demons vie for power and squabble amongst themselves, humanity can only do one thing:
Pretend everything is normal.
Halloween update rescheduled to Halloween!
Submitted by irk on Fri, 10/28/2011 - 9:20pmSee you then. :D
That Book's Done, What About the Next Book?
Submitted by irk on Sun, 10/23/2011 - 11:59pmFriday we posted the final chapter of The White Thaumist Book One, fourth book in the Peacock King Trilogy... trilogies. Overall, I would have to say that it was really hard to write, but satisfying to end. The first trilogy had a solid storyline in the first book, a "connecting the dots" storyline in the second book, and the culmination of all three books' storylines in the third book. Usually that is how a trilogy works, and so I expected The White Thaumist to go the same way.
By typing this, I am controlling your mind.
Submitted by irk on Sun, 04/03/2011 - 3:08pmAs it turns out, I can use the power of my mind to control people's actions. I wish I would have discovered such a power before, because I'd probably have gotten a new job more quickly. I'll work on that after I'm done with this post. The important part is just that I have perfected the art of mind control via pixels.
How did I get this power? To be honest, who cares? It just matters that I have it and I'm going to abuse the heck out of it. Before I do that, though, I guess I'll explain how I discovered this amazing power.
I was chatting with Gabriel Gadfly about his recent sicknesses. Like all poets, Gabriel regularly comes down with consumption as a way of drawing inspiration from the looming shadow of Death. Also, he steals Death's wallet in times of reader donation slump.
Moved by his plight, I was struck with an idea, and decided to give him the best book design he will ever have:
Peacock King Book 1 Cover Inks
Submitted by irk on Tue, 01/18/2011 - 4:31pmIs that not AMAZING? That's what Char did for Book 1's cover. The colored version will be underway eventually - first she's getting the inks for all three covers done. You can watch her draw these things live - check out the Livestream tab up there in the right corner sort of under the Twitter link!
Zoom into this thing and check out the detail. It has a pretty bird butt and another pretty bird butt.
